*Monnanda Shobha Erappa* daughter of Erappa & Meena Ponnamma(Thamane Mukkatira Hoobail) originally from Madapura presently residing @ Kaikeri, GoniKoppal is the only *Kodavathi* among few from India to have participated in *International Congress of Mathematicians* held recently @ Brazil. This Congress is held once in 4 years where only top researchers in Mathematics congregate & highest awards like Fields medal, Gauss medal, Cherns medal & Nevalinna award take place. She has presented her recent research work at the Congress.
Shobha was a student of St. Anthony High School, Ponnampet who passed *SSLC* scoring *92%*. She passed *PUC* in *Distinction* at Cauvery College, Gonicoppal to continue *B.Sc* which she passed out in *Distinction* too being *second rank* in the district.
In the years 2006 & 2007 Shobha represented Karnataka in “Indian Acadamy Fellowship for Summer Research” & “Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research”. She cleared M.Sc in Mathematicsfrom Mangalore University in Distinction in 2008.
She worked as a teacher in COPS, Gonicoppal & as a lecturer in Cauvery College, Gonicoppal.
Sobha has presented papers ina number of conferences like 78th workshop by Mathematical Society at Varanasi,Conference at Bangkok, Thailand etc.
Shobha currently is a *Senior Assistant Professor* in Department of Mathematics, *MIT, Manipal*. She has done her *Ph.D* from *National Institute of Technology, Surathkal*, Karnataka.
She has *two post Doctorates* to her one from National Board of Higher Mathematics Fellowship governed by Dept. of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India at National Institute of Technology & the second post Doctorate at Goettingen University, Germany. She is an *invited speaker* at various colleges including the GIAN programmer at IISER, Trivandrum.
Shobha in addition of being avid runner & trekker, is also an active member & cultural secretary of Kodava Samaja, Mangalore.
