Dr. Ajjinikanda Sheeka Chinnappa on completion of her Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.
 Sheeka is the daughter of Baduvanda P Subramani and Shweta (Thamane Iychettira) residents of Peggoli, Moonad (Murnad), Kodag.

She is married to Ajjinikanda Dr. Chinnappa son of Dr.Ganapathi and Indira {Thamane Kuttanda (Karmad, Ammathi )} residents of Chennangi, Pollibetta, Kodag. The couple is blessed with a son, Veer Ponnanna aged 3.5 years. Her sister Swekritha Subramani is working as Team lead, Environment and Sustainability at Hindustan Coca-cola and her brother Sawan Bopanna is pursuing M.Tech, Manufacturing Engineering at MIT, Manipal. Sheeka did her schooling at Maruthi Primary School, Murnad and St. Joseph’s Convent, Madikeri, and then joined Sharada Residential School, Udupi to do her pre-university education. She later graduated as a Chemical Engineer from Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur. Sheeka completed her M.Tech in Environmental Engg with Gold Medal from SRM University, Chennai, in 2012. 

Sheeka then did her research and obtained her Ph.D in 2021. The topic for her thesis was “Evaluation of Pyrolyzed Areca Husk as a potential adsorbent for removal of Ferrous Ions from Aqueous Solutions”. Sheeka worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Larsen and Toubro (Construction) and later as Assistant Professor at MIT Manipal.
